Brionne Finishes

SP Sheridised Patina
The soft pewter look called Sheridised Patina, (SP) is achieved through a laborious and involved process. After some hours of rumbling in the stock material that softens and starts the patination process, it is tumbled under extreme heat with zinc particles that weld onto the raw steel. This is the Sheridising process that creates a durable anti-rust finish. The final processes involves tumbling with grain to polish before lacquering, and the final patinating procedure that creates not only a fabulous look and feel but also the durability it has the reputation for.
RO Rust
After tumbling for the patina and rusting, the products are coated with a hot wax to protect the finish. This finish should only be used with the understanding that this is not a trick finish but rust, the real thing! The finish evolves with use, developing the character of the steel that is its base element.
SN Black enamel
This is a painted finish over the sheridised product. Painting the steel hardware is a French tradition with the charm being in the way the paint wears over time. It may be repainted, but we suggest your expectation includes the finish developing character rather than a pristine black finish in the long term, unless you keep the paint to it.
LV Aged brass
Solid brass that has been aged through a distinctive process resulting in a classic, timeless appeal. This is a popular finish that presents more formally than the steel finishes (SP, RO, SN) and highlights the provincial feel.
LP Polished brass
Lacquered or un-lacquered, highly polished solid brass. The un-lacquered brass will age naturally and be able to be polished and maintained.
