Steel wool for refinishing woodwork. Firstly, remember steel wool rusts, so make sure it is used appropriately, that is to say all traces removed after use. Grade 3 use for stripping with paint stripper. Grades 00 & 0000 for furniture finishing prior to lacquereing and between coats of lacquer and before waxing. Some like to use a pad of steel wool for waxing. Be aware of the implications of use with valuable antiques with fine patina!
